For a puppy the world is a new and exciting place to explore but visiting a grooming salon can be an overwhelming experience with bright lights, loud noises, different smells and a strange new person handling them. This is enough to make any dog feel anxious and worried however, being a puppy, they are also quick to learn and able to build resilience at an early age.
The puppy package is about exposing them to these new experiences in a gentle and enjoyable manner. We want your new family member to be happy in all aspects of their new life.
We will familiarise your pup with a new experience during each visit within the package schedule.
Please note: Puppies that are applicable for this service are those aged between 12 weeks to 9 months old.
All 4 visits will need to be booked within a 6 month period.

Your puppy is welcomed into The Frantastic Pets pod, letting them have a sniff and a wander to socialise them to the pod environment. The puppy will have a chance to have a little play to ensure they have a positive experience.
They will be introduced to the grooming table, where we will gently handle their feet, ears, teeth and tail to desensitise and familiarise them with being handled.
They will have a chance to go into the bath and will be gently introduced to the water, with a towel dry to finish off their first visit.

On your puppy’s second visit they will have a chance to re-familiarise themselves with the environment and bath time. We want this to be a great experience for all young dogs, not just those that need regular grooming. Having a bath is something all dogs will need to do.
They will feel the sensation of the water on their body and around their face and ears. We will also use the gentle dryer whilst they are having a cuddle to give them that positive experience.
If we feel your pup is ready we will introduce them to some styling tools to allow them to sniff them, hear them and maybe even feel them.

The 3rd visit is all about desensitising for the styling part of the groom. This will include playing with their paws, looking in their ears and stroking/gently moving their tail. All of these are movements that are not natural and they would not be accustomed to but would need to be able to tolerate them while at their grooming appointment.
There would be a re-introduction to the grooming tools and the pup will experience a brush and a trim if required.
The pup would have time in the bath, along with a gentle dry and then a finish with the grooming tools again.

It is now time for your puppy’s first full groom. They have had a chance to experience all aspects of the grooming process. With our gentle puppy package your growing pup should now be able to tolerate the relevant grooming activities.
This visit will include a bath, brush, nail cut and ear clean, as well as a coat and face trim depending on the breed.
Your puppy will have completed their first full groom and will receive a gift from Frantastic Pets in celebration.

They say an old dog can’t learn new tricks and with an anxious dog it can be even more challenging. But, with positive and gentle desensitisation, a nervous dog can build confidence in new environments. I’m speaking as someone who has an anxious dog myself. Any trauma experienced from a young age doesn’t need to rule their lives forever.
Even as an adult they may never have had the experience of being taken to the dog groomers or maybe they had a previous bad experience. My aim is to work with the dog (and their human family) to build up that confidence so they are able to enjoy their time being groomed and receiving a pampering.
Please note: Dogs that are eligible to receive this service are aged from 9 months+

Ideal for less nervous dogs that may just need a single visit to desensitise them to the new experience.

Spread over 6 months this provides your dog a slow and steady approach to ease them into the new environment and build up trust in me as their groomer.
Session 1 - (max 45 mins) dog’s mummy or daddy to join us in the grooming pod, whilst we are having a chat, the dog can roam around the pod. Being able to sniff and feel comfortable in the environment.
Session 2 - Dog’s mummy or daddy to bring the dog in but to leave after 5-10 minutes and we will introduce the dog to some grooming activities.
Session 3 - We will collect the dog from the visitor bays and will carry out a gentle first groom. Allowing the pooch plenty of time to de-stress.

Maybe you don’t drive or maybe you’re super busy and struggling to find the time, we can save you the hassle of bringing your pooch to us. We’re happy to offer a pick up & drop off service as part of your dog’s groom for an extra fee.
With this service we’ll both collect your furry family member from your home and return them back to you after their groom is complete.
We limit this service to a maximum radius of 5 miles from Frantastic Pets, this is to ensure we are able to maintain existing appointment commitments to our other clients.
Please note: As this is an add-on service the prices quoted are additional to the price given for the Groom specific to your dog.

£16.00 - if within a 3-5 mile radius

What’s included with the Full Works?

If your address is within a 5 mile radius of Frantastic Pets then we’ll save you the trip by coming to your house to collect your pooch and return them back to you once their appointment is finished.

We’ll give your pooch a 45 minute solo walk before heading into the pod for their pamper session.

We’ll then get to work grooming your pooch which finishes off the ‘Full Works’ experience.
The Full Works Add-On Price:
£25.00 - This is a flat fee and will be added to the price of the Groom, which is specific to the breed & coat type of your dog.
